Update - Search for missing man, Cloncurry:  Police are today continuing the search for a mamissing man missing south west of Cloncurry. A land and air search today will utilise police, SES members and the EMQ helicopter. The man is described as being Caucasian, 50 years of age, tanned complexion, brown hair, 180cm tall and a medium build. Assault, Noosa: Police are appealing for witnesses to an assault in Noosa on Saturday night. Initial investigations suggest the male victim was walking with friends along Noosa Driver near the intersection with Sunshine Beach Road around 8.30pm when they were approached by a group young people. The man was held down while the group kicked and punched him a number of times. He sustained lacerations to his face, bruising and grazes to his upper body. He was taken to the Noosa Hospital for treatment. A second man was also assaulted but he received only minor injuries. Anyone who may have witnessed the assault is urged to contact police immediately. Traffic Operation, Sunshine Coast:  Police from the Sunshine Coast District, State Traffic Task Force and the Roadside Drug Testing Unit conducted a traffic enforcement operation from October 1 to October 4. The operation targeted the fatal four: speed, fatigue, drink driving and seatbelt. During the four day operation police conducted 1700 breath tests and 187 roadside drug tests. They issued 800 infringement notices, and 34 people were issued with notices to appear for offences ranging from possession of drugs to serious traffic offences. Police also detected five drink drivers and one drug driver and impounded several cars from repeat unlicensed and disqualified driving offenders during the operation.
