Vessel fire, Victoria Point: Scenes of Crime officers and Cleveland CIB will continue investigations into a fire that destroyed a vessel today.  Around 12.15pm fire officers were advised that a boat moored off Victoria Point was on fire.  Volunteer Marine Rescue personnel, fire officers and water police officers attended and the fire was extinguished.  The 7.5 meter fibreglass vessel was destroyed leaving only the hull afloat. Armed robbery, Boondall: Police are currently investigating the armed robbery of a Boondall convenience store this evening.  Around 6.45pm a man entered the Sandgate Road store and asked the female shop attendant for cigarettes.  When she turned her back to get them he demanded money from the register.  She hesitated and the man produced a large knife.  She handed over an amount of cash and he left the store heading south on foot.  He is described as in his late teen, Caucasian; 165cm tall with a slim build and had acne on his face.  He was wearing a black or grey hooded raincoat with long sleeves.

Jewellery theft, Burleigh Heads: Police investigations are continuing into the theft of a Burleigh Heads jewellery store this afternoon.  Around 5.15 a man entered the store on the Gold Coast Highway gesturing for the female shop attendant to go outside and give him directions.  While she was distracted out the front of the store another man entered and stole a quantity of gold chains from the rear office of the store.  The man left prior to the woman returning.  Both men left prior to the woman realising that the jewellery had been stolen.  The man who distracted the woman is described as of Aboriginal appearance, around 25-years-old and 158cm tall. He has a solid build and a moustache.  He was wearing a white T-shirt, black shorts, and a hat.  The man who entered the store is described a Caucasian and has a slim build.  He was wearing a light coloured polo shirt, blue jeans, a light coloured baseball cap and white shoes.
