Contravene fire ban charge, Gin Gin: Police have charged a 33-year-old local man after an alleged altercation with Rural Fire Service officers at a property at Gin Gin on Tuesday night. Around 7.30pm an altercation occurred between fire officers and the man after he allegedly refused to allow them to enter his property to extinguish a fire. During the incident the man allegedly pushed a log at the fire officer striking him on the forehead. The man has been charged with one count each of assaulting a public officer, obstructing a public officer and contravening a local fire ban. The man will appear in the Bundaberg Magistrates Court on November 6. Police would like to remind members of the public of the importance of adhering to local fire bans and that those caught contravening these bans may face prosecution.
Unlawful wounding, Goodna: A 29-year-old man was taken to the Ipswich General Hospital this morning after he was stabbed by two males who broke into his car. Off-duty officer arrests man, Sherwood: An off-duty dog squad officer and his loyal canine partner apprehended a man who allegedly broke into their house at Sherwood last night. Just before 3am the officer was woken by a sound in his garage. He went onto his front verandah in time to see a man walking down his driveway, the man yelled abuse at the officer before running off. The officer went downstairs and saw the door of his private car open and an internal door ajar. He collected his police dog and tracked the alleged offender who he located a short distance away. The 17-year-old man will appear in Richlands Magistrates Court today charged with enter dealing with intent, unlawful entry of a motor vehicle and stealing.
