Tractor and shed fire, Elliott Heads: Investigations have commenced into a fire that has completely destroyed a shed at an Elliott Heads property overnight. Police were alerted to the fire when a passer by saw a tractor on fire. The tractor appears to have rolled into a nearby shed causing the flames to spread. The tractor, shed and its contents were totally destroyed by the fire. Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in the area to contact them.

Armed robbery, Currumbin: Police are investigating an armed robbery at a tavern on Currumbin Creek Road early this morning. Around 2.15am a man has entered the premises and presented what appeared to be a handgun which he used to threatened two employees. He has demanded one employee open the safe and fled the scene with a large sum of cash. The man is described as being in his early to mid 40's, 178cm tall and of a large build. He was wearing black track pants, green/grey sweatshirt, white cotton gloves and joggers.

Serious assault police, Brisbane City: Two men, aged 25 and 28, have been charged following a violent altercation that has left a police sergeant with an injury to his hand that requires surgery, and a senior constable with an injury to his knee. It is alleged the officers attended a George Street residential address in relation to a noise complaint and were confronted by an aggressive occupant upon arrival. It is alleged this man has punched, elbowed and scratched police a number of times resulting in a scuffle between parties.  A second offender then became involved in the altercation and resulted in one of the offenders hitting his head on the wall causing a minor laceration that was treated at hospital. The 25-year-old man has been charged with one count each of assault police and obstruct police, he is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court tomorrow. The 28-year-old man has been charged with one count of obstruct police and is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on November 11.
