Motorcyclist dies at Arundel

A 20-year-old male motorcyclist died and a 23-year-old female pillion passenger was seriously injured in a traffic crash at Arundel this afternoon.

The Highland Park man was riding a Yamaha 1000cc road bike which collided with a car at the intersection of Napper and Chichester roads at approximately 12.30pm.

The man died at the scene and the woman’s condition is listed as serious but not life threatening.

The driver of the car was injured and is currently assisting police.

Napper and Chichester roads were closed for approximately two hours to allow officers from the Forensic Crash Unit to attend and begin their investigation.
