Armed robbery, Maroochydore: Police are appealing for witnesses following an armed robbery at a supermarket in Maroochydore last night. Around 11.15pm a man entered the store on Aerodrome Road armed with a syringe. He threatened the female staff member and demanded money. The woman refused and the man then left the store empty handed. The man was last seen heading north along Third Avenue. He is described as Caucasian, around 183cm tall, aged in his 30’s and was wearing a hat, beige polo fleece jumper and jeans.

Serious traffic crash, St Lawrence: Police are investigating a serious crash near St Lawrence yesterday. Around 12.15pm a four wheel drive was towing a caravan along the Bruce Highway, around 4kms south of St Lawrence, when it left the roadway and rolled several times. The 43-year-old male driver suffered a suspected shoulder injury and was transported to Rockhampton Hospital by road. His 38-year-old female passenger suffered suspected spinal injuries and was airlifted to Rockhampton Hospital. Two female children seated in the back of the vehicle suffered only minor cuts. The Bruce Highway was closed for several hours while the crash scene was cleared. Investigations are continuing.

Armed robbery, Labrador:  Police are investigating an armed robbery at Labrador yesterday afternoon. Around 4.05pm a man armed with a knife entered the convenience store on the corner of Central Street and Turpin Road and demanded money and cigarettes. The man then left the store with a sum of cash and cigarettes. He was last seen running north on Turpin Road. The man is described as Caucasian, around 184cm tall, of a medium build and aged in his 20’s or 30’s. He was wearing a brown coloured baseball cap, black sunglasses, black scarf, black t-shirt and three-quarter length shorts.

Robbery charge, Townsville: A 32-year-old Townsville man will appear in court today charged with the alleged attempted armed robbery of shop in Townsville. At 3.25pm yesterday the man allegedly entered the store on Flinders Street West armed with a knife. The female attendant ran to the rear of the store and the man allegedly fled empty handed. He was allegedly located a short time later by police. He has been charged with one count of attempted armed robbery and is due to appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court this morning.
