Third person arrested for murder, Logan
A 28-year-old Shailer Park woman will appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court today charged with murder.Detective Superintendent David Hutchinson, Regional Crime Coordinator, South Eastern Police Region today announced a further break through in the investigation of the murder of Brian Bathgate at Mount Warren Park in August.
“Detectives from the Logan District Criminal Investigation Branch, and Homicide Investigation Group arrested the woman yesterday for the murder of Mr Bathgate,” Detective Superintendent Hutchinson said.
“The arrest brings to a total of three people charged with Mr Bathgate’s murder, and one for the arson of his motor vehicle which was found with his remains at Eagleby on August 21.
“The arrest was the culmination of lengthy and thorough investigations. The success of this investigation is due to not only the police involved, but also the help of the media and the many members of the public who provided valuable information through Crime Stoppers,” Detective Superintendent said.
The woman will appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court today.
