Fatal crash, Millaa Millaa: Police are investigating a single vehicle fatal traffic crash this morning on East Evelyn Road at Millaa Millaa. It is believed the motorcycle was travelling along this road around 9.30am when, for unknown reasons, the rider has left the roadway and down an embankment. The male rider died at the scene. The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.  There is no further information at this stage.

Dangerous driving, Mt Gravatt: An 18-year-old man has been charged in relation to an alleged dangerous operation of a motor vehicle last night. It is alleged police were patrolling the area when they saw a vehicle driving on the wrong side of Mt Gravatt Capalaba Road.  Police attempted to intercept the vehicle which allegedly drove away at speed. The car was followed for a short distance before the occupant allegedly pulled over and ran into bush land. Police Dog Zac was deployed and located the man a short distance away. He was arrested and charged with one count each of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, fail to stop, obstruct police, drink driving (BAC), learner driving unaccompanied, learner not displaying L plates and possess tainted property. He is due to appear in the Holland Park Magistrates Court on October 26.

Burglary, Victoria Point: Police are investigating a burglary at a residence in Victoria Point last night. Around 11.15 a man has entered the house and stolen some property, before being disturbed by an occupant. The man fled the residence and dropped the stolen property. The man is described as being of Pacific Islander in appearance, in his mid 20’s, with brown hair. He was wearing a black hooded jumper and dark jeans. Missing person, Bannockburn Station (Cloncurry): Police are currently searching for a 58-year-old missing man at Bannockburn Station, 26km north of Quamby. The man has been missing since yesterday afternoon and police hold concern for his safety as he has some medical conditions. Police and SES will continue the search for the rest of the day.
