Update: Mt Archer Fire road closures.
An emergency situation declaration under the Public Safety Preservation Act remains in place in the Mt Archer area after fires earlier today.
Due to the dynamic nature of the fires and the need for emergency services to respond quickly, powers available under that act will be used as necessary.
Police also wish to advise that all road closures mentioned in earlier bulletins have now been lifted. However, motorists are reminded that there is still the potential for immediate road closures should further need arise.
Police urge residents in the area to continue to regularly monitor updates issued by the Department of Community Safety (media releases) and the QFRS Rural Operations website at www.ruralfire.qld.gov.au or at www.fire.qld.gov.au. Residents should also monitor local radio stations for updates.
