Morning Round Up - Second Edition

Sexual Assault, Holmview: Police are investigating a sexual assault in Spanns Road, Holmview that occurred yesterday. Around 9pm a woman left the train station when she was approached by a man who tried to engage in conversation with her. He then assaulted the woman and dragged her to nearby bushes. The woman struggled and consequently the man ran off. The man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, in his early 30’s, 180cm tall, tanned skin, short brown hair, facial hair and proportionate build. He was wearing maroon oval-necked t-shirt with short sleeves, brown shorts and runners. He spoke with an Australian accent. Death, Murray Island: Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a 71-year-old Murray Island man. A number of witnesses are currently assisting police with their investigations. A post mortem is expected to be conducted later this week.
