Evening Round-up
Armed robbery charges, Woodridge: Three teenagers have been charged after an alleged attempted armed robbery at Woodridge this morning. Around 11.20am it is alleged the group entered the service station on Wembly Road, one armed with a knife. They then allegedly threatened a man who was filling up his car, demanding cash and his car keys. The group then fled empty handed. An 18-year-old Kingaroy man has been charged with attempted armed robbery and unlawful use of a motor vehicle. He is due to appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court at a later date. A 15-year-old boy and 16-year-old boy, both from Kingaroy, have been charged with attempted armed robbery and unlawful use of a motor vehicle. They will be dealt with under the provisions of the Juvenile Justice Act.
House fire, Belvedere (Innisfail): Police are investigating a house fire on Bella Vista Avenue at Belvedere near Innisfail earlier this evening. Around 7.25pm a fire started in one of the rooms of the house causing the two adults and three children inside to evacuate. No one was injured during the blaze. Scientific officers will attend the scene tomorrow to continue investigations into the cause of the fire.
Shop fire, Biloela: Police are investigating a fire which damaged a shop on Grevillea Street at Biloela this evening. Around 7.20pm police were advised of the fire at the shop and attended the scene. The building was extensively damaged and the scene will be guarded by police overnight. Scientific officers will attend the fire scene tomorrow to continue investigations.
