Morning Round-up
Armed robbery, Forestdale (near Logan): A convenience store at Forestdale, west of Logan, was robbed by a man armed with a knife around 2.30pm yesterday. The man, wearing a motorcycle helmet, entered the store on the corner of Forestdale Drive and Johnson Road and threatened the female employee with a large fishing knife, demanding she hand over money. The woman complied with the offender’s demands and he escaped with a sum of cash. Investigations indicate the offender escaped the scene on a motorbike being ridden by an accomplice. The main offender is about 178cm tall, of Caucasian appearance and proportionate build and was wearing light blue jeans, a red, white and black flannelette shirt, a black helmet and white sneakers. Drug offences charges, Coolum Beach: Police charged a 48-year-old man with numerous drug related offences after executing a search warrant in a Central Avenue residence at Coolum Beach around 8.45pm yesterday. During the search police located a quantity of dangerous drugs and drug supply utensils. The man was charged with one count of trafficking dangerous drug, eight counts of supply dangerous drug, three counts of possess dangerous drug, two counts of possessing things used in drug crime and one count of possessing utensils. He is due to appear in court in a later date.
Assault charges, Townsville: A 23-year-old man was charged in relation to an assault incident that occurred on November 14 around 9.30pm. The man allegedly entered a hotel room in West End and assaulted the occupant. The Aitkenvale man was charged with two counts of enter dwelling with intent and one count of stealing. He is due to appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court on November 16.
