Sexual assault charges, Holmview: A 30-year-old Edens Landing man has been charged over an alleged sexual assault of a 23-year-old woman at Holmview on November 11. Around 9pm it is alleged the woman was approached by a man as she left the train station, before being sexually assaulted. The man was charged with sexual assault and assault with intent to commit rape. He appeared in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court today and was remanded in custody. He is due to reappear early in December.
Drugs charges, Victoria Point: Police have charged a 59-year-old man with a number of drug offences after a search warrant on a Victoria Point address this morning. Around 8.30am police attended the property on Sycamore Parade and allegedly located a large number of cannabis plants and a hydroponics set-up. An amount of cash was also allegedly located. The man was charged with producing dangerous drugs, possessing dangerous drugs, supplying dangerous drugs, possessing drug utensils, possessing property suspected of being the proceeds of crime and unlawful taking of electricity. He is due to appear in the Cleveland Magistrates Court on December 17.
Robbery, Woody Point: Police are investigating an armed robbery at a bottle shop at a hotel at Woody Point last night. At 8.15pm the man entered the hotel on the corner of Woodcliffe Crescent and Oxley Avenue armed with what staff believed to be a gun, made threats and forced a customer to lie on the floor while demanding an amount of cash. The man was described as 180cm tall and slim build wearing black tracksuit pants and black hooded jumper with a white motif on the chest. Investigations are continuing.
