Morning round up - Second Edition

Fatal crash, Mackay: A man was killed this morning in a single vehicle traffic crash at Mackay. Shortly after 5am the man’s vehicle veered off the Meadowlands Road at Meadowlands and collided with a tree. The man died at the scene. Investigations are continuing.

Assault charges, Fortitude Valley: Police have charged a 19-year-old Windsor woman after she allegedly assaulted two people in a bar on Ann Street in Fortitude Valley overnight. Around 2am the woman allegedly threw a glass at a 21-year-old Fortitude Valley man, bruising his face and then punched a 20-year-old Brookfield woman several times causing suspected bruising. The 19-year-old has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm and common assault. She is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on November 24.

Armed robbery, Brisbane: Police are investigating a robbery of a convenience store in Adelaide Street, Brisbane City earlier today. Around 4.45 a man entered the shop and threatened an employee, demanding money with his hand up his shirt intimating that he was holding a firearm. The man fled on foot and was last seen heading up Edward Street, traveling toward Ann Street. The man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, in his mid 20’s, 180cm tall, slim build and short brown hair. He was wearing blue jeans and maroon and white check shirt.

Armed person, Beaudesert: Police charged a 45-years-old man after an incident at a caravan park in Albert Street, Beaudesert around 12.20am today. The man allegedly produced a firearm and threatened another man. The man then locked himself inside a residence and refused to follow police requests to come out. Around 2am the man came out and was taken into custody without incident. The Beaudesert man was charged with threatening violence and two counts of possessing unregistered firearms. He is due to appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on tomorrow. No one was injured during the incident.
