Afternoon Round-up

Update fatal crash, Underwood: A 24-year-old Slacks Creek man was killed this morning in a single vehicle crash at Underwood. Preliminary investigations indicate the man, who was the sole occupant in the vehicle, lost control around 4.30am on Millers Road and collided with a tree. The impact caused the man to be ejected through the driver’s side window and the vehicle then collided with a second tree. The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.

Produce drug charges, Rockhampton: Two men, aged 25 and 29, have been charged following the discovery of a working clandestine laboratory at a residence on Yaamba Road yesterday. Police attended the address around 2pm after receiving reports of suspicious activity in the area. Both men have been charged with one count each of produce a dangerous drug and are due to appear in the Rockhampton Magistrates Court tomorrow. A 26-year-old woman was also located at the scene and has been issued a notice to appear in the Rockhampton Magistrates Court charged with one count each of possess a dangerous drug and possess utensils.

Arson charges, Redcliffe: Police have charged a 36-year-old man following the alleged arson of a house in Redcliffe overnight. Police were notified of the blaze around 11pm and when they arrived the two storey dwelling in O’Connell Street was engulfed in flames. The fire was extinguished but the house received major damage. No one was injured as a result of the fire. The man has been charged with one count each of enter premises with intent and arson. He is due to appear in the Redcliffe Magistrates Court tomorrow.
