Update – Woman dies after serious crash, Toowoomba: A 19-year-old woman who was a passenger in a car involved in a serious two-vehicle crash at Toowoomba last week has died in hospital as a result of her injuries. The incident occurred on Bridge Street about 6.30pm last Wednesday, November 25. The woman was taken to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital where she remained in a critical condition until she passed away this evening. The 24-year-old male driver of the vehicle the woman was travelling in received minor injuries and was treated at Toowoomba Base Hospital, as was the 60-year-old female driver of the second vehicle. Missing man, possible drowning, Mount Isa: Police spent this evening searching for a Mount Isa man who has not been seen since he went for a swim in Lake Moondarra near Mount Isa this afternoon. The 44-year-old local man was at the lake with relatives when he told them he was going for a swim about 3pm. When he had not returned by 3.50pm, they went looking for him but were only able to locate some clothing on the bank of the lake, with his dog sitting beside the clothing. A search of the area conducted by the man’s relatives, police and SES volunteers, including a boat search, has so far failed to locate the man. The search has ceased for the night and will re-commence at first light. Attempted armed robbery, Mitchelton: A knife-wielding man wearing a balaclava attempted to rob a school office this afternoon. The man entered the office area of the school on Osborne Road, Mitchelton about 1.30pm and demanded cash from the two staff members. When they advised the man there was no cash on the premises, he fled empty-handed. No one was injured during the incident and no students were present at the time. The offender is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his early 20s, about 180cm tall with a solid build. He was wearing blue pants, a white shirt with a blue stripe and a black balaclava and was carrying a black bag.
