Armed robbery, Mount Cotton: Police are investigating an armed robbery at a convenience store at Mount Cotton today. Around 12.30pm a man entered the store on Valley Way and produced a knife. He demanded money from the shop attendants and they complied. The man fled the store and ran to the western side of the shopping complex, where a female was waiting on a blue and white Suzuki motorcycle. They then sped off onto Valley Way heading west.  The man is described as around 30-years-old, Caucasian appearance, around 178cm tall with a slim build and had facial hair on his chin. He was wearing a black and white motorcycle helmet, a grey long sleeve top and faded jeans. The female was wearing a full face helmet.

Suspicious death, Mount Isa: Police investigations are continuing into suspicious death of a 43-year old Mt Isa man.  Around 7.55 last night police received a triple 0 call advising that a man had been found in a house in Kaeser Street.  Ambulance officers were called but the man was pronounced deceased.  A crime scene has been declared and door knocks have been conducted.  Scientific officers will attend the scene to conduct further examinations today.

Fatal crash, Sheldon: The Forensic Crash Unit will continue investigations into a fatal single vehicle crash at Sheldon last night.  Preliminary investigations suggest that around 10.20pm a Commodore sedan was travelling east towards the roundabout at Redland Bay Road and Duncan Road when it clipped the centre road island careering into trees on the other side of the road.  The main impact was to the passenger side of the vehicle slicing the bonnet and roof from the car.  A 35-year-old male passenger was killed on impact.  The 22-year-old male driver received minor injuries.

Stealing with violence, Spring Hill: A 29-year-old woman suffered bruising to her head and grazes to her elbows after she was assaulted and robbed overnight.  Around 11.50pm the woman was walking along Henry Street towards Leichhardt Street talking on her mobile phone. She noticed a man following her but kept walking.  The woman then noticed another man come out of a building and join the first man.  As she reached Leichhardt Street the first man punched her in the back of the head with a clenched fist causing her to drop to the ground where she was punched to the head again.  The men then ripped her handbag from her shoulder and her phone from her hand before running off.  She was taken to the RBH for treatment.  The men are described as of Aboriginal or Pacific Islander appearance.

Armed robbery, Moorooka: Police will continue investigations into an overnight armed robbery of a service station at Moorooka.  Around 10.20pm a man armed with a meat cleaver has entered the Ipswich Rd business and demanded money from the console operator.  A sum of money was handed over and the man fled the store on foot heading inbound on Ipswich Road.  He is described as around 165cm tall with a tanned complexion.  He was wearing black ¾ pants and had a towel wrapped around his head.

Drug and assault arrest, Haigslea: A 34-year-old man will appear in the Ipswich Magistrates Court today charged with possession of tainted property, possession of a dangerous drug, serious assault, serious obstruct and wilful damage.  The incident occurred around 2.45 yesterday afternoon when a police officer spotted two cars in bush land.  When the officer went to investigate he located and man and a woman allegedly in possession of drug equipment, drugs and a large quantity of cash.  The man was detained and placed in the police vehicle and while the officer was dealing with the woman the man has allegedly forced his way out of the window of the police car destroying it. The man has allegedly removed items from the car and ran into bush land.  He was later located in Kissick Street, Haigslea.  A search of the man and the vehicle located a large amount of cash and a quantity of cannabis.
