Morning Round-up Second Edition
Arson, Wooloowin: Police are appealing for witnesses to the suspected arson of a vehicle that occurred around 11.50pm yesterday. The vehicle was located in the Ken Anderson Park near the John Wren oval, off Gorman Street, Wooloowin. Preliminary investigations suggest the vehicle was stolen. The vehicle is described as a Blue 1995 Ford Falcon with Queensland registration number 104IRD. Anyone with information which could assist police with their investigations should contact Crime Stoppers anonymously via 1800 333 000 or crimestoppers.com.au 24hrs a day. Attempted armed robbery, Clontarf: A 39-year-old Redcliffe man was charged with attempted armed robbery after he allegedly entered a service station armed with a knife. It is alleged the man entered the store in Hornibrook Esplanade at Clontarf and demanded money around 7.25 last night before leaving the store empty handed. No one was injured and no property was stolen. The man will appear in the Redcliffe Magistrates Court today.
Drug charges, Mt Charlton (near Mackay): Police have charged a 45-year-old man following the seizure of a large amount of cannabis yesterday. Police executed a search warrant on the Mt Charlton address where they allegedly located the cannabis along with other drug related property. The man has been charged with one count each of produce a dangerous drug, possess a dangerous drug and possess anything used in the commission of a crime. He is due to appear in the Mackay Magistrates Court today.
