Melbourne Cup race meeting at Eagle Farm

Police have praised the behavior of the 12,600 people who attended the 2009 Melbourne Cup race meeting at Eagle Farm Racecourse today.

Police Commander for Operation Homage Inspector John Flanagan, described the crowd as being well behaved and thanked the patrons for making it a safe and fun day for everyone.

Police arrested one person for serious assault police, assault and obstruct police

One person was arrested for resist eviction, public nuisance, assault and obstruct police

One person was issued with a Notice to Appear for assault occasioning bodily harm

Another patrol was given a Notice to Appear for obstruct

One Liquor Seton for issued for resist eviction off licensed premises

And police evicted 13 people for intoxication and behaviour issues.

Security officers evicted 61 people for intoxication and behaviour breaches.
