Morning round-up second edition
Rock throwing incident, Coomera: Police are investigating an incident on railway tracks approximately 300 meters south of the Hope Island Road overpass at Coomera this morning. It is believed the train was travelling north around 6.10am when the driver saw a milk crate filled with rocks on the middle of the track and attempted to slow down, however he was unable to stop and collided with the crate. Rocks were then thrown at the train from the side of the tracks by unknown person/s, hitting the front of the train and one rock embedded into the windscreen. No one was injured during the incident however the driver was in shock. Scenes of Crime officers have attended the scene and the Coomera CIB and the Railway Squad will be investigating the incident.
Fatal crash, Underwood: A man has died following a single vehicle crash on Millers Road at Underwood early today. The crash occurred about 4.30am and the male driver and sole occupant died at the scene.
