Unlawful wounding arrest, Hervey Bay: A 49-year-old man will appear in Hervey Bay Magistrates Court today in relation to an incident at a caravan park in the suburb of Kawungan last night. It will be alleged the man entered the caravan of a 53-year-old man about 9.10pm and stabbed the resident in the chest area. The 53-year-old man was taken to Hervey Bay Hospital however his injuries are not serious. The alleged offender has been charged with six offences including entering a dwelling with intent, unlawful wounding, contravening a police direction and a number of drug offences.

Serious single vehicle crash, Karrabin (near Ipswich): A 24-year-old woman received serious injuries in a single vehicle roll over on Karrabin Rosewood Road at Karrabin, west of Ipswich, at 8pm last night. The woman was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital with severe head and internal injuries and is currently in a critical but stable condition. The circumstances surrounding the crash are being investigated by police and anyone with information is urged to come forward. Karrabin Rosewood Road was closed until about 4am while investigations were completed at the scene. House fire, Warana: Police are investigating the cause of a fire that completely destroyed a house at Warana on the Sunshine Coast this morning. Emergency services were called to the Saleng Crescent residence about 1am at which time the house was well alight. The two residents in the house at the time the fire started escaped unhurt and it has been ascertained that the fire started in the ground floor lounge room. Initial investigations indicate the fire may be as a result of an electrical fault however the scene is being guarded until it can be fully examined in daylight hours and the cause confirmed.

Armed robbery arrest, Gladstone: Police have arrested and charged a 25-year-old Gladstone man after he allegedly held up a service station about 11.30pm last night. It is alleged the man entered the premises on the Dawson Highway at West Gladstone and threatened one of the employees with a knife and demanded that she empty the cash registers. He escaped on foot with a sum of cash and was located by police shortly after. He will face Gladstone Magistrates Court tomorrow in relation to charges of entering premises with intent and armed robbery.

Serious assault police, Upper Coomera: Police have charged a 35-year-old man after an alleged incident at Upper Coomera yesterday. Around 10.10am two police officers attended a residence on Vivacity Circuit and were confronted by the man. It is alleged he attacked the officers, head butting a first year constable and kicking a sergeant in the chest. As police attempted to arrest him he allegedly resisted violently and further assaulted the officers. The man, from Upper Coomera, was eventually arrested and taken to the Southport watchhouse where he was charged with two counts of seriously assaulting police and one count of going armed so as to cause fear. He will appear in Southport Magistrates Court today. The constable was taken to Allamanda Hospital suffering a cut to the upper forehead that required five stitches, and other bruising to the upper body and arms. The sergeant sustained bruising to his rib area and arms and was also taken to hospital.

Armed robbery, Heritage Park: Two men, one armed with a fence paling, held up a Heritage Park service station, south of Brisbane, last night. They entered the store on Waller Road shortly before 11pm and one of the offenders emptied the cash register while the other offender threatened the employee with the paling. They fled the store on foot. Both offenders are believed to be males and were wearing hats and gloves. One was wearing a red and blue long-sleeved jumper, black track pants with a white stripe down the side, and a white bandanna covering his face. The other offender was wearing a black, long-sleeved jumper, black pants and a black bandanna over his face.
