Afternoon Round-up

Rape, Toowoomba: Police are appealing for witnesses in relation to the sexual assault of a 33-year-old woman in Toowoomba. The woman walked into Toowoomba East Creek Park from Margaret Street shortly after 3am on Sunday morning. Two men followed her, dragged her to the ground and then sexually assaulted her. The men are both described as 183cm tall, slim build, with a dark to olive complexion. Fatal crash, Maroochydore: A woman has died in a crash on the Bruce Highway at Maroochydore this afternoon. The crash occurred about 12.30pm in the southbound lanes of the highway just north of the Nambour Connection Road. Early information is that two vehicles collided head-on. Police are currently diverting traffic around the scene and are urging motorists to use extreme caution and to reduce speed when driving through the diversions.
