Evening Round-up
Missing swimmer, Mermaid Beach (Gold Coast): A man is missing after going for a swim at Mermaid Beach on Hedges Avenue earlier this evening. He was seen to enter the water around 6pm and when he didn’t return a search was commenced by Surf Life Savers and Gold Coast Water Police. The man is described as being of Caucasian in appearance and around 40-years-old.
Missing windsurfer, Kawana (Sunshine Coast): Police will continue the search for a missing windsurfer at first light tomorrow morning. The man was seen from bystanders on Buddina Beach around 3.40pm and appeared to be in some distress. When the man didn’t return police were called and commenced a search with Surf Life Savers. The man’s identity is unknown.
