Fatal crash – single vehicle, Ripley: Officers from the Forensic Crash Unit are investigating the cause of a single vehicle fatal crash at Ripley today. The crash occurred on Ripley Road between Fischer and Aulds roads about 11.40am. From the initial investigation it appears the vehicle has left the road and rolled before coming to rest in a ditch. A 10-year-old girl died at the scene. A 9-month-old boy was transported to the Mater Children’s Hospital and is currently in a critical condition. An 18-year-old woman and the driver, a 36-year-old woman, were also injured. Ripley Road was closed following the crash and re-opened about 5pm.
Stolen snakes, Nerang: Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate a number of stolen snakes. The snakes were stolen from an address on Teasdale Road at Nerang sometime between yesterday afternoon and about 11.30am today. Approximately 37 snakes contained in several plastic containers were stolen. The breeds of snake stolen include; Spotted Pythons, Children's Pythons, Stimson Pythons, Carpet Snakes, Black Head Pythons, Woma Pythons, Pilbara Death Adders and Desert Death Adders.
