Drug charges, Iveragh (south of Gladstone): Police have charged a truck driver after intercepting a vehicle at Iveragh yesterday. Around 3.10pm police performed a drug test on the heavy vehicle driver, which was travelling south along the Bruce Highway about 30km south of Gladstone. The 41-year-old man allegedly returned a positive result. Police also allegedly located a quantity of Methylamphetamine and Cocaine. The man was charged with two counts each of supply dangerous drug, possess dangerous drug, and one count each of possess property (drug offence) and receiving tainted property. He is due to face Gladstone Magistrates Court today.
School fire, Benowa: Police are investigating a fire at a primary school at Benowa last night. Around 7.15pm police and Queensland Fire and Rescue Service (QFRS) attended the school on Benowa Road. The QFRS extinguished the blaze, but not before it caused some damage to a door and plastic drain. Police are treating the fire as suspicious at this stage. Armed robbery, Toowoomba: Police are investigating an armed robbery at a service station at Rangeville last night. Around 9.50 three males entered the service station at the corner of Mackenzie and Perth Streets. Two of the males produced knives and then demanded money from the attendant, who complied. They then fled the store on foot and were last seen heading north on Mackenzie Street. The first male is described as being Caucasian, around 168cm with a slim build, brown wavy hair to the collar and aged in his early teens. He was wearing a stripped grey t-shirt. The second male is described as being Caucasian, around 180cm with a slim build and aged in his late teens. He was wearing board shorts and a white hooded jumper, with 'Sapporo' in blue lettering on the front. The third male is described as being Caucasian, around 180cm with a slim build and aged in his late teens. He was wearing a dark baseball cap, black crew neck jumper and board shorts.
