Serious crash near Fernvale: An Ipswich man was airlifted to the Royal Brisbane Hospital following a single vehicle roll over near Fernvale this morning. Police were advised by QAS the 55-year-old man had been involved in crash on a dirt track at picnic grounds off the Brisbane Valley Highway around 9.45am. He was the sole occupant of the vehicle. Investigations into the cause of the crash are now underway.
Update – house fire, Grosvenor near Eidsvold: Investigations into a house fire at Grosvenor (near Eidsvold) have determined the blaze is non-suspicious. The scene was guarded overnight after police were advised a house had been destroyed on a rural property on Creek Road around 7.50pm. No one was at home at the time.
Update – Attempted armed robbery, Heritage Park: Police are investigating an attempted armed
robbery at a service station at Heritage Park last night. Around 11.45pm
two men entered the premises on Waller Road and made a demand for money. One of the men was armed with a knife. The store attendant refused the demands and produced a shifting spanner. The offenders fled empty handed and were last seen running towards Rossmore Street and Hampton Streets in Heritage Park. The first offender was wearing multi coloured board shorts, a blue long sleeve jumper, grey coloured baseball cap and no shoes. The second offender was wearing grey and white board shorts, a multi patterned white and grey hooded jumper and no shoes. Both males had their faces covered but appear to be in their late teens with slim builds.
