Conspiracy to murder charge, Townsville: Townsville police yesterday charged a 24-year-old woman with conspiracy to commit murder. Police will allege the Townsville woman had plans to murder a 44-year-old local man. She has also been charged with one count of possess tainted property and is due to face Townsville Magistrates Court on February 15.
Bridge climb charges, Brisbane: Two men have been charged after allegedly climbing over the railings of the Victoria Bridge in an attempt to jump into the Brisbane River overnight. Police attended the bridge shortly after 2am and spoke to the men, at which time they climbed back onto the bridge and were taken into custody allegedly after a brief struggle. A 29-year-old West End man and a 33-year-old Spring Hill man were both charged with unregulated high risk activities and obstruct police. They are due to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on March 4. Police would like to warn members of the public that jumping from bridges and other structures into the Brisbane River can result in death or serious injury.
Robbery, Wooloowin: A 25-year-old Clayfield man had cash and personal property stolen after he was robbed by three youths at Wooloowin early this morning. Around 00.20am the man was at a railway station in Bridge Street, Wooloowin when he was approached from behind by three youths who stole his wallet and mobile phone before fleeing on foot. The man was not injured and one of the youths is described as male, Caucasian, aged approximately 16-17, 175cms tall with a shirt covering his face. Police investigations are continuing.
