MEDIA RELEASE FOR WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 17: Fatal traffic crash, Tinbeerwah

Two teenagers tragically lost their lives this afternoon following a head-on collision at Tinbeerwah.

One of the youths died at the scene while the other was entrapped for a period of time before being transported to Nambour Hospital where he died from his injuries. Both were 18-year-old Tewantin locals.

Two other men, a 19-year-old from Tewantin and a 60-year-old from Cooran were treated at Nambour Hospital for minor injuries.

The vehicles, one containing the three teenagers and the other a single male driver, were traveling along the Cooroy- Noosa Road when they collided around 3.50pm.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating and are appealing for witnesses, including the driver of a silver van (possible a work van) who may have witnessed the crash, to contact them.
