Homicide investigation, Bundaberg
Police have commenced a homicide investigation following the discovery of the body of a young girl at Bundaberg this morning.
Police were called to a family home around 5.50am today when an eight-year-old girl’s parents awoke to find her missing.
A search was commenced and a girl’s body was located some distance from the house a short time later.
Officers from Bundaberg Criminal Investigation Branch with assistance from Homicide Investigation Unit personnel are investigating, and a Major Incident Room has been established at Bundaberg Police Station.
Police are asking for anyone who might have information that could assist with the investigation to come forward.
