Armed robbery charge, Cannonvale: Police have charged a 21-year-old man after an alleged armed robbery in 2008 at Cannonvale. It is alleged that on August 12 a man entered a service station on Shute Harbour Road and produced a knife before stealing a sum of cash. Whitsunday Criminal Investigation Branch carried out an extensive investigation before charging the man yesterday with one count each of armed robbery, enter premises with intent and two counts of possessing a dangerous drug. The Coolum Beach man is due to face Maroochydore Magistrates Court on March 13.
Armed robbery, Browns Plains: Police are investigating the armed robbery of a car wash business which occurred on Grand Plaza Drive, Browns Plains yesterday. About 5.10pm two males armed with knives approached an attendant in a room at the premises. They stole a sum on money before fleeing on foot. They were last seen heading across the car park of the shopping centre. One of the males is described as being Caucasian in appearance, approximately 179cms tall, with fair hair. The second male is described as being approximately 182cms tall with dark hair. Burglary, Rochedale South: Investigations have commenced into the overnight burglary of a jewellery store located on Underwood Road, Rochedale South. Entry into the store was gained after thieves drove a vehicle into the front glass door around 4.50am. A quantity of jewellery was stolen before they fled the scene in the vehicle.
