Men fall over cliff, Point Cartwright: Police and Emergency service workers are still on the scene of a tragic incident at Point Cartwright.  Preliminary information suggests a group of people were at the top of the cliff near the lighthouse at Point Cartwright when one of the men has slipped and fallen over the edge.  Two other men went to his aide and have also slipped over the edge falling approximately 21 meters. Two men have been taken to hospital in a critical condition and one man died in the fall.  Note: No further information is available at this time.  An update will be provided when confirmed information is received.

Armed robbery, Cooroy: Police are investigating an armed robbery at a Cooroy newsagency this afternoon.  Around 3.05pm a man entered the Diamond Street store and approached the store attendant who was behind the counter brandishing a samurai type sword.  The man demanded money from the register and was handed an undisclosed amount of cash. The man then ran out the front door and got into a white coloured Holden Barina hatch which was driven by another man. The car was last seen heading east towards Noosa. No injuries were received. The man is described as around 179cm tall, with a slim build and blonde hair.  He was wearing a white t-shirt and a black balaclava.  The second man was around 45-years-old, Caucasian and has a heavy build.  He was wearing a white t-shirt.

Three charged with arson, Loganlea: Three men will appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on March 15 charged with arson.  The arrest follows an incident around 1.55 this morning at Waterford Tamborine Road at Waterford when police spotted two men allegedly running from a burning car.  The men got into another car driven by a third man and they allegedly drove to Short Street Loganlea when they abandoned the car running into a park. A police dog squad unit located two of the men and the third man was located and spoken to later.  The 25-year-old man was charged with arson, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and obstruct.  The 23-year-old man was charged with arson, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, trespass and obstruct.  The 17-year-old man was charged with arson.
