Three missing canoeists located, Mitchell River
Police located the three canoeists, who were reported missing yesterday, safe and well near Battle Creek shortly before 9am.
The trio, a man, a woman and a boy, were reported missing yesterday after failing to reach their destination following a canoeing trip on the Mitchell River in far north Queensland.
The trio left the Mary Farms area at Mount Carbine around 1pm but did not reach their intended pick-up location at Cooktown Crossing by night fall.
Police would like to thank the media and the public for their assistance.
