Morning Round-up Second edition

Assault charges, Goodna: A 44-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man have been charged in relation to the assault and robbery of a man in his 20’s last night. It is alleged the pair approached the victim on the footbridge at Brisbane Road around 8pm and assaulted him by striking his face. It is further alleged the pair then stole a sum of cash from the man before leaving the area. Police located the pair a short time later and both have been charged with one count each of robbery in company and assault occasioning bodily harm. The 24-year-old man is due to appear in the Ipswich Magistrates Court today and the 44-year-old woman is due to appear in the Ipswich Magistrates Court on March 1.

Serious crash, Darra: Police are investigating a serious two vehicle crash on Ipswich Road yesterday afternoon. It is believed a car was making a right hand turn into a business address on Ipswich road around 5pm when a motorcycle has overtaken another vehicle colliding with the car. The rider received serious non-life threatening injuries and was transported to hospital for treatment. The Forensic Crash unit is investigating.
