Disturbance, Townsville: A 48-year-old Rasmussen man has been arrested following a disturbance at an Alexander Court residence yesterday evening. Around 6:30pm police were called to attend the residence where it will be alleged the man confronted them armed with an axe. He will appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court today charged with obstruct police and threatening violence.
Armed robbery, Woodridge: Police are investigating an armed robbery at a service station on Compton Road. Shortly before 8pm last night a man entered the store armed with a screwdriver and threatened the attendant whilst a woman waited in the doorway with a cloth covering her face. They escaped with a quantity of cash and were last seen heading towards Ewing Road. The man is described as approximately 170cm tall, proportionate build, Caucasian with blonde hair wearing a baseball cap, brown jumper, black tracksuit pants and white joggers. The woman is described as being of proportionate build, Caucasian, wearing a baseball cap, black top, jeans and white joggers.
