Morning Round-up Second Edition

Assault charges, Greenbank: A 21-year-old man was charged after he allegedly assaulted and stabbed a 22-year-old woman yesterday around 2pm in Stoney Camp Road, Greenbank. The Greenbank man was charged with wounding and assault occasioning bodily harm whilst armed. He is due to appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court today.

Assault charges, Chelmer: Police have charged an 18-year-old man following an incident at a football game on June 28, 2009. During the course of the game at a football club in Chelmer a player was allegedly struck by a member of the opposing team. It is alleged the injured player fell to the ground and remained motionless. He was taken to the Mater Hospital with severe facial injuries. The Cooroibah man was charged with grievous bodily harm and is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on February 9.

Update – Elderly woman critically injured, Rockhampton: The 82-year-old woman critically injured in an incident at a Rockhampton address on January 26 has died in hospital this morning. There is no further information at this stage.

Armed robbery, Springwood: Police investigations will continue today into the overnight armed robbery of a Springwood service station. Around 1.35am today two men entered the premises on Rochedale Road and threatened the console operator with what appeared to be a garden tool while demanding money. The console operator handed over money from the till and the offenders fled.  The first man is described as 198cm tall and wearing a long sleeved black and red stripped jacket, white legionnaire style cap, a blue track suit with a wide white stripe down each leg and had a white material covering over his face. The second man is described as 168cm tall and was wearing a jumper with a thin stripe across the chest and hood, blue track pants and white joggers.
