Robbery with violence, Enoggera: Police are investigating the robbery of a woman on Samford Road last night. It is believed the woman was walking along Samford Road just after 10pm when she noticed a man walking towards her. A short time later the woman was assaulted by the man before he stole her handbag and ran along Ardentallen Street. The woman followed and was assisted by a passer by but the man stole a sum of cash from her bag and threw the remaining contents back towards her before jumping over a fence. The man is described as being Caucasian in appearance, approximately 180cm tall, of a slight build with sandy coloured shaved hair with a rats tail. He was wearing a blue shirt and shorts. Fatal crash, Tingalpa: Officers from the Forensic Crash Unit are investigating the cause of a fatal crash on Wynnum Road (near the Gateway Motorway on-ramp) at Tingalpa this afternoon. About 5.25pm a maroon Mitsubishi Magna Sedan has exited the driveway of an address on Wynnum Road and then turned left and collided with the rear of an east bound Nissan Navara. The Mitsubishi sedan then appears to have lost control and travelled a short distance before leaving the roadway and colliding with a tree alongside the northbound on-ramp of the Gateway Motorway. The 77-year-old male driver was taken to the Royal Brisbane Hospital where he later died. The male driver of the Nissan was not injured. Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact the Forensic Crash Unit on 07 3364 3311 or call Crime Stoppers.
