Recaptured escapees charged, Townsville: Two men who were located today after allegedly absconding from the low security Townsville Correctional Centre this month have been charged. A 26-year-old man has been charged with escaping lawful custody, three counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, two counts of stealing, one count of robbery, as well as traffic offences. A 20-year-old man has been charged with escaping lawful custody, two counts of unlawfully using a motor vehicle and robbery in company. A third man, 24, from South Townsville who was allegedly located in company with the alleged escapees has been charged with 19 offences including harbouring escaped prisoners, four counts of burglary, two counts of unlawfully using a motor vehicle, two counts of attempted burglary and a number of other property and traffic offences. All three are due to appear tomorrow in Townsville Magistrates Court.

Drug laboratory charges, Yandina: Police have charged a Yandina couple with a number of offences after a clandestine laboratory was allegedly located at a property on the Sunshine Coast today. A 36-year-old man has been charged with five offences including possessing property used in the commission of a drug offence, possession of a dangerous drug and unlawful possession of a weapon. A 32-year-old woman has been charged with unlawful possession of glassware and failing to take reasonable care with a syringe. Both have been bailed to appear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on April 19.
