Fatal crash, Aratula (near Boonah): Police are currently at the scene of a single vehicle crash at Aratula. It is believed a motorcycle was travelling along Tarome Road around 1.30pm when the rider, for unknown reasons, has lost control. Police and the Queensland Ambulance Service attended and attempted to revive the man but he died at the scene. The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding this incident.
Update – fatal motorcycle crash, Peachester: The motorcycle rider who was pronounced deceased following a crash this morning near Peachester has been identified as a 52-year-old man from Yandina. The crash occurred approximately 2km outside of Peachester towards Beerwah around 7.30am. Initial investigations indicate that a group of motorcycles were travelling along Peachester Road when two have crashed in separate incidents prior to the fatal crash occurring further along the road. Both riders involved in these incidents were taken to the Nambour General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
