Animal cruelty, Gold Coast:  A Mudgeeraba man has been charged after a black swan was injured on December 26.  It will be alleged that the man ran over the bird on a Mermaid Waters Canal with a jet ski around 1pm.  The bird received a broken wing and is currently receiving care at a Gold Coast wildlife sanctuary.  The 19-year-old man has been charged with animal cruelty and is expected to appear at the Southport Magistrates Court on January 21.
