Car into house, Currumbin Waters: Police are investigating a crash early this morning that resulted in a car crashing into the side of a Currumbin Waters home.  Initial investigations suggest that the vehicle was travelling along Buckingham Way when the driver has, for unknown reasons, lost control of the car and crashed into the side of the Simpson Road residence.  No one was injured as a result of the crash however significant structural damage was caused to the residence.  The driver of the car left the scene before police and emergency services arrived. Investigations are continuing.

Assault and affray charges, Buranda: Five men have been charged with assault and affray following an alleged attack on December 30. Two men were allegedly assaulted at a restaurant in a shopping centre at Buranda at 9.30pm. Two men, both aged 22, are charged with grievious bodily harm and another three, aged 36, 21 and 20 have been charged with affray. Police are further proceeding with anti discrimination related offences against the men charged with grievous bodily harm. They are due to appear at the Brisbane Magistrates Court on January 8, 2011.
