Fatal crash, Chermside: Police are preparing a report for the Coroner following the death of an 88-year-old Chermside man at the Royal Brisbane Hospital today. The man had been admitted following an alleged collision between a car and a motorised scooter on January 12 at the intersection of Hamilton Road and Kingsmill Street, Chermside. The crash occurred around 9am, and the 88-year-old scooter rider, was transported to hospital as a result of injuries sustained.

House fire, Beerwah: Police are investigating the cause of a fire which destroyed a home in Blackbutt Street on Saturday. The home was engulfed by flames just before 9pm and QFRS attended but the home was extensively damaged. Investigations reveal no one was at home at the time but a neighbour sustained minor injuries when she tried to enter the home to check if the owner was inside. She was treated by QAS at the scene. Police are investigating.

Serious crash, Cedar Creek: A 51-year-old man sustained critical injuries when his motorcycle crashed on Quinzeh Creek Road today. As the man approached Chardon Bridge Road, near Veivers Road he rode through gravel on the side of the road and crashed. QAS transported the man to the Princess Alexandra hospital with life threatening head injuries and remains in the intensive care unit. Forensic Crash Unit are investigating.

Marine incident, Main Beach: Police are investigating an incident where a rider lost control of a jet ski in the Main Channel, The Broadwater today.  Around 12.45 a passenger on fell from the craft and sustained neck and back injury as well as a laceration to her head. The 20-year-old Victorian woman was transported to Gold Coast Hospital. Gold Coast Water Police are investigating.
