Unit fire, Kingaroy: Around 12.30am, police and emergency services were called to a unit block on Edward Street Kingaroy after reports of a fire. Upon arrival, one unit had been destroyed while the others had sustained minor damage with all units evacuated and occupants accounted for. Initial investigations suggest the fire is non-suspicious, however, further enquiries will be conducted today.
Traffic crash, Hodgson: A 20-year-old male is in a stable condition with serious injuries following a single vehicle traffic crash in Hodgson last night. Around 11.40pm, the vehicle the man was travelling in along Hodgson Lane North has for unknown reason swerved and left the road surface before rolling and colliding with a tree. The man was transported to Roma Base Hospital with a suspected fracture to the spine, possible skull fracture, a broken collarbone and facial injuries. The two male passengers in the vehicle, a 20-year-old and a juvenile, have suffered minor injuries as a result of the crash. Forensic Crash Unit attended the scene and police investigations are continuing.
Serious assault, Toowoomba: A 58-year-old Toowoomba male is currently in an unstable and life threatening condition in intensive care following a disturbance last night. Around 7pm, police were called to a Burns Street residence, Toowoomba, by QAS after reports a male had been seriously assaulted. The man was transported via QAS to the Toowoomba Hospital where he underwent emergency surgery. Police investigations are continuing.
