Drug charges, Nerang: Police have charged 36-year-old man with several drug related offences after an incident yesterday at Nerang. Around 1.45pm police attended a premises on Southport-Nerang Road and allegedly located the man with a quantity of cash, drugs and other drug related paraphernalia. The man has been charged with two counts of possession of a dangerous drug and one count each of possession of a drug utensil and possession of property (drug related). The man is due to face Southport Magistrates Court today.
Armed robbery, Wacol: Police are investigating an armed robbery at a service station at Wacol last night. Around 8.45pm two men entered the store on Boundary Road and both produced knives. They threatened the store attendant and stole an amount of cash before fleeing the scene in a vehicle. Both men are described as being of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander in appearance. Search for possible missing swimmers, North Stradbroke Island: Police and surf life savers will continue a search for two possible missing swimmers at first light this morning. Around 5pm last night police were flagged down by a member of the public at Flinders Beach. Police were told two people were around 100 metres off shore and were waving for assistance. Police along with surf life savers, volunteer marine vessels and coast guard immediately commenced a search of the area and after several hours were unable to find anyone. Police have not received any missing persons reports at this stage.
