UPDATE Rail incident, Bambaroo (Townsville Police District)
Police are investigating a collision between a truck and a train at Bambaroo this morning that has resulted in three people being hospitalised.
Around 11am, the truck was heading westbound on Abswold Road when a train collided with it at a level crossing.
The 18-year-old female driver and 27-year-old male passenger of the truck, both from Richmond, were airlifted to Townsville Hospital.
It is believed both have suffered serious, though non-life threatening, head, leg and abdomen injuries.
A female passenger on the train was transported to Ingham Hospital with minor injuries.
Nil other injuries have been reported at this time and Forensic Crash Unit officers are currently investigating.
The rail crossing has been closed since the incident, with the site now returned to Queensland Rail to commence recovery efforts.
