House fire, Hervey Bay
Police are investigating the cause of a fire which caused substantial damage to a home in Torquay yesterday.
Emergency services attended the Honiton Street house around 5.50pm after reports of a fire in the two storey home.
The blaze caused extensive damage an upstairs area and the remainder of the house suffered smoke and water damage as a result.
Two women and three children were at home at the time of the fire and all managed to escape. The occupants received first aid treatment at the scene.
The cause of the fire is still being investigated and further examinations will be conducted this morning.
