Fatal aircraft crash, Roma district
Police are currently at the scene of a light plane crash that has claimed the life of a man near Roma.
Initial information suggests the aircraft left Roma yesterday afternoon on route to Dysart but failed to arrive.
A search commenced this morning and the wreckage of the plane was found approximately 100 kilometres north of Roma this afternoon.
The pilot, a local man aged in his 40’s died at the scene.
Officers from the Forensic Crash Unit and are investigating and will prepare a report for the coroner.
