Grievous bodily harm charge, Cairns
Police have charged a 46-year-old man following investigations into a disturbance at a licensed establishment on Shields Street last night.
Shortly before 6pm, it is alleged the man punched a 39-year-old man following a verbal argument.
The 39-year-old man received critical head injuries and was transported to the Cairns Base Hospital.
The 46-year-old Woree man was charged with one count each of grievous bodily harm and possession of a dangerous drug.
He is due to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court today.
