Child Abduction Alert

FINAL ALERT

The Queensland Police Service is still urgently seeking public assistance to help locate a vehicle which may be being used by Robert Sheldon, who abducted a four-year-old child at Loganholme today. The vehicle is a red 1998 Ford Festiva with Queensland registration, 949ELJ.

At 7.00am Robert Sheldon, the father of the child, has entered a house, assaulted the occupant and taken a four-year-old child from the house.

Police have been door knocking the Logandale area, they have set up a MIR at Logan and have searched all cars leaving the area.

The abductor, Robert Sheldon is described as being of Caucasian appearance, 180 cm tall, about 34 years of age, slim build, sandy hair, and wearing black tracksuit pants, burgundy t-shirt and black baseball cap.

Nikkala Byrne is described as being of Caucasian appearance, 100cm tall, about four years of age, slim build, blue eyes and extremely blond hair and was naked.

Robert and Nikkala were last seen entering the River Lakes Golf Course on foot from Oakmont Drive, Logandale Estate, Loganholme.

Anyone sighting Mr Sheldon should call 000 immediately.

Ring 000 to provide life threatening information about this abduction. Ring 131 564 to provide any other information about this abduction.

Media conference with Acting Detective Inspector Brian Swan at Logan Police Station, 11 Civic Parade, Logan Central today at 3.00pm.

No further alerts will be issued and future updates will be provided through normal Police Media arrangements.
