Final Update - 10:40am

The 18-month-old girl who was taken from 12 Olivia Street Banyo about 8.15pm last night has still not been located.

Police hold fears for the safety of the child and after she was taken by her 37-year-old mother. 

The woman is described as 160 cm tall, with a fair complexion, slim build, with hazel coloured eyes, medium length brown hair with blonde streaks. She has tattoos of a tiger, a blue bird and a cloud on her stomach and a tattoo saying ‘forever stixey’ on her chest. She is wearing black tracksuit pants and a light blue singlet. She is driving a green Mazda hatchback, 1983, registration number 607 FQC.

The 18-month-old girl is wearing a pink poncho and a nappy.

Police are currently following up confirmed sightings of the woman in the Aspley area between 7am and 8am this morning. It is believed the child was seen on one of these occasions.
