Geoff Munro is director of the Community Alcohol Action Network at the Australian Drug Foundation, an independent, non-government organisation. A former teacher, he has extensive experience in the alcohol and drug field having worked in education, training, community development and research for government and non-government agencies. His current role involves managing the work of the Community Alcohol Action Network. CAAN aims to reduce environmental pressures that encourage unsafe drinking through the avenues of media advocacy, policy development and community action. CAAN is particularly interested in the marketing and supply of alcohol. He has published on alcohol and drug policy, prevention and education in Addiction, Drug and Alcohol Review, the International Journal on Drug Policy and Substance Use and Misuse, and he co-edited Drug Education in Schools: Searching for the Silver Bullet, published in 2006. He has convened “Thinking Drinking” conferences in 2005 and 2007 and five “International Conferences on Drugs and Young People” since 1998. |
